Al MVP Race

Rays
The Rays beat out the Sox so much of the hope Ellisbury would win MVP is gone. If you look at it, The Rays had no single star because Price and Longoria struggled. They won games Because of a good mix. Joyce, Zorbrist and Upton provided all around role playing and Damon provided leadership. There fielding specialties were provided by Kasy Kotchman, Kelley Shoppach and Sam Fuld. Sean Rodruiz and Desmond Jennings are likely there for there potential rather than present abilities. So the rays have no star that could Win MVP.
Yankees
The Yanks had a great year but Jeter, A-Rod and Jorge Posada had there worst seasons since over 10 years ago. But Cano, Granderson and C.C. Sabatha are all MVP candidates. Granderson dominated and is my favorite in the race for MVP. C.C is a top 10 pitcher again. He had 237.1 innings pitched which was 5th best in the league. He also had the forth most strikeouts with 230. He could win a Cy Young but Verlander is the most likely candidate. They had two other really productive players in Texeria and Cano. Both had over 25 Homers. Tex had a whopping 39 but batted a career low .248 batting average. Cano brought elite D and 28 homers but also batted over .300 . The yanks may have too many good players for anyone to win MVP, but Granderson is one of the top candidates. While I’m at it the yanks had impressive seasons from thought to be washed up players, Andruw Jones, Russell Martin, Freddy Garcia, Bartolo Colon and Nick Swisher brought a solid role player to the OF.
Tigers
The Tigers beat out the White sox, Indians and twins to win one of the toughest divisions around. Verlander is there most likely MVP candidate. Cabrera and Avila reach the All star game. The tigers best player was verlander he had lead leading strike outs , Innings Pitched and a amazing 24 wins. Justin also posted a impressive 2.40 ERA. With Verlander Dominating they out lasted both Jimenez and the Indians and Lirano and the Twins. Verlander will win the CY Young and Might Win MVP.

Indians
The worst move in Indians history trading for Fukeadome and Jimenez, But they do have Multiple good stars. Santana is one of the best Catchers, Jimenez could return to form, Grady Siezmore and Choo are two top 20 OF and Cabrera is a top 5 SS. They really had no real MVP candidates but a healthy Indian squad is a top 6 team. Choo and Jimenez are two players that might return to form.
Red Sox
The Sox have a couple MVP candidates in Ellisbury and A-Gone. A-gone had a team leading .338 average which was third in the AL. Ellisbury had 32 Homers and 39 Steals both were Top ten in the AL. Jacoby is a legit canidate but might not win tit do to his teams failure to make the playoffs. Former All stars Carl Crawford and Kevin Youkliss both struggled. Pedrioa and Ortiz were good but neither made a big impact. Star Relievers Daniel Bard and Jonathan Papelbon both were streaky and lester or Beckett Failed to make Candidacy.
Twins
The Twins Dint Make the playoffs and MVP`s Justin Morneau and Joe Mauer missed significant time. Role Player Michael Cuddyer starred and is there best chance at making the race. Lirano started out hot but cooled down and they had good seasons out of Duesing and Pavono. There Best Pitcher was Scott Baker and none should even Compete for MVP.

Rangers
The Rangers had a comeback from losing to the giants. Hamilton, Kinsler, Beltre, Napoili and Cruz all could be found on MVP ballots. That’s the reason none of them will win. Napoili lead the team in average and Kinsler lead the team in HR`s and The teams ace pitcher ( C.J Wilson) had ERA Bellow three. They also had surprisingly good pitchers in Derek Holland, Matt Harrison and Ogando. So I don’t see a MVP among the Rangers.
White Sox
Of the 4 players trying for MVP contention only 2 made it. Dunn and Ramirez had a bad year. Dunn Batted .159 with just 11 homers after having 10 years in a row with at least 15 Homers and a .215 average. His worst year was his rookie year with only 244 at bats he still had 19 homers and a .264 average. Dunn was horrible and Ramirez had just 15 Dingers and 7 steals. The 7 steals were a career low and 15 Dingers ties his previous career low. He also batted a career low .269. The best offensive player was Paul Konerko. Yes the 35 year old DH/1B men. Konerko lead the team in homers and Average. He also came in second in slugging and on base percentage. He might be in the MVP contention if the Sox made the playoffs. Former All star Matt Thornton was okay but Jake peeavy fell apart. There final MVP contender was Juan Pierre who has 27 steals and batted .279 Had the sox made the playoffs he could be on the list.

Blue Jays
This is all about Jose Bautista he rocked the world with a 43 Homer season and then added a +.300 batting average. He dominated No other Jay can say that. He walked a career high number (132) He then added career high OPS. He is my favorite 3B man but could get less strike out and a higher Homer Total. The rest of the rays were lead by Lind and Arencibia. Lind had 26 Homers and J.P had 23 Dingers. The Colby Rasmus deal ended up disappointing. Rasmus had 9 less homers and 7 less steals he also batted a career low .222 There lead pitcher were Rickey Romero and late season prospect Chad Beck. Beck had 2 innings and let up NO earned Runs. He also had a great whip of 0.43 Beck had 3 strikeouts too!!
Angels
Brought to you by Jerred Weaver. Weaver dominated all leagues. Rel, Fantasy, national, Roto. He had a amzing win total of 18 on a team that won just 86 games. There team had a great roster. Stars Howie Kendrick and Veron Wells had oppsite years. Kendrick had a career Year and Wells not so much. Wells had his worst year since 2001 but still brought 23 homers. His .216 average was the lowest since 2000. Kendrick had 18 homers which is 8 more than last year. He batted .285 and had a career high ( tie) 14 steals. Torii hunter had another good year with 23 homers a +.260 average and 7 steals. He isn’t as good as the 07 hunter but was a capable OF. The Only Angel MVP canidate is weaver but Haren did really well.
