NBA Free Agents (F/A)
First the changes, The new NBA CBA has a clause that lets All stasrs, All NBA or MVP’s sign for more than the Max. This clause allows players that are selected twice as a All star or All NBA or once as a MVP to sign for 25% to 33% of a teams salary cap. For example Derek Rose of the Bulls is a free agent in 3 years and will lilkey sign for more than 124 million over 7 years which is the max contract. He would be able to make somewhere between 125-134 million. This is called a PPC or player performance clause. Also note players like Rashard Lewis, Baron Davis, Travis Outlaw and other players with “excessive contracts” will be cut by the amnesty clause. This CBA is 100% done as certain parts of the “B-issue list” are yet to be solved. They include back to back games and drug testing. The NBA guarantees back to back games and a 66 game schedule. Training Camps open the ninth of December and 2 preseason games will be played per team.
Note below I do not state restricted F/A or Player option players. But to some it up. Jeff Green wants to stay in Boston, The Grizzles will match any offer Marc Gasol receives and Aaron Brooks, Wilson Chandler, J.R Smith, Kenyon Martin and Role players like Scaliberne and Ramodivoic will not play in the NBA next year after they signed to play in either China or Europe. This really hurts NBA fantasy owners who had Chandler or Smith on there rosters. Also my next issue will focus on individual teams like the Celtics, Lakers and Cavs.first word is the former team My prediction in Red.
Marquis Daniels- SG/SF-Kings Would fit in Boston and both sides agree that this good defensive player should be back in Boston.
Yi Jianlan- C/PF-Wizards Go fit for any rebuilding team that will take him. Maybe Sacramento or the clippers. He is rather injury prone.
Shane Battier-SF-Grizzles is the only player in NBA history to play on a team every year it has made the playoffs (Memphis) He also provides defence and 3pt shooting which Memphis will cherish.
DeShawn Stevenson-SG-Mavs He is not staying in Dallas, at least they don’t want his attitude and issues. He is a good defender and might fit in well in Miami, Cleveland, Boston and Charlotte. I think the rebuilding Bobcats will end up with him.
Caron Butler-SG/SF-Mavs I think he stays in Dallas. When he healthy he can become a Robin to Batman (Dirk). He scores from almost every angle and is Tough on and off the court.
Allen “AI” Iverson-PG/SG-76ers (2 years ago) A aging scorer who will make the hall of fame. He has had issues with players and coaches and I think he will become a Celtic as part of there last ditch effort.
Tyson Chandler-C- Mavs If Dallas wants to win he stays but I heard rumors boston and Miami are looking at him. He plays good Defence and shoots a high FG%. I predict Boston if Dallas doesn’t want to win.
Nene -C- Nuggets Nene is a minor star but almost every team wants him. Though I think the Rockets will get him. After all they said they are “Prepared to go all out” for Nene.
Vince Carter-SG/SF- Suns Carter will be waived but any team with a scopring issue will love to have him off the bench. Both Boston and San Antiono could use a man of his talents but I think the Spurs will use him more.
Andrei Kirinlenko “AK-47”-SF/PF- Jazz AK will not be a Jazz but the Lakers, and other teams want this versatile defender. He appears to be at the end of his career. He is rather I jury prone and a present shoulder injury proves he is “nearing the end”.
T.J Ford-PG- Pacers I don’t really think any team has expressed much interest but I believe Cleveland and Toronto would fit. He used to have plenty of potential but a Big fat contract and money have side tracked his career.
Delonte West-PG/SG- Celtics A versatile, defensive, good shooting guard. He will remain in boston after a poor regular season after breaking a wrist.
Samuel Dalembert-C- Kings A good defensive player who is notorious or goal tending but the Heat, Knicks, Celtics all have interest in him but I only see Dalembert as a Heat starter next season.
Glen “Big Baby” Davis-PF/C- Celtics Energy and size combined with hustle but questions have begun to arise, can he really be a offensive weapon, can he play center and how much will he cost? If it’s cheap he’s a Celtic if not he’s someone I have know idea about. But Detroit has expressed interest in him.
David West-PF- Hornets a aging Former all star who can still get 17 points a night and 7 rebounds but is aging. After tearing a ACL it appears as though his off season will be limited. Both Indiana and NO want him.
Jason “J-Rich” Richardson-SG/SF Magic almost any team with fast break or scoring issues wants him. That means Orlando will have competition of Boston, Cleveland, NY, NJ, pacers and a few other teams. I think the Golden State warriors will get him.
Tayshaun Prince-SF/PF- Pistons I predict that the Nets will really pursue this All NBA defensive talent. He is a Iron man, Great Defender and best of all, consistent.
Jammal Crawford- SG- Hawks He says hawks or Knicks I say Hawks or Celtics so I predict Hawks. He is a Scoring Reserve.
Kwame Brown-C- Bobcats A big mistake by M.J in 01 who has made quite a career for himself in recent years. The Cats say he could average 14 points next season while the Pistons, Knicks and a lot of other teams ant him. I think he is a Bobcat.Greg Oden-C- Blazers I think he will be a cheaper blazer in the following years but both Boston and other aging big man less contenders have interest.
