NBA Elite (part 2) Dallas
Dallas is a champion team with at least three hall of famers and maybe more. The team has many ageing vets and previous all stars along with some raw youngsters. Dirk, Jason Kidd and Vince Carter are all hall of famers but from my prospective Kidd is at the end (2-3 years left) and is having his worst statistical year. meanwhile Vince Carter has lost alot of his top tier explosiveness but is still good for 12-18 points a game. He is very inconsistent (like RB Reshard Menedhall who had a 100 yard game followed by less than 70 yard game). Dirk is a boss in every way possible. There roster also includes former all star Shawn Marion, former 6th man of the year, jason Terry and last years sixth man of the year.....Lamar Odom!! The team also s home to former lottery picks Brandon Wright and Yi Jianlian. Wright has played okay for the warriors but is really brittle (injury prone) and hasn't played well over the last few years. Yi is a 7 footer with 3pt range but after being a top 10 pick in 2009 he hasn't averaged suitable REB's for a big. He did average 11 points a game in 2010. The Nets had even traded him to Washington before the start of last season. His recent injury woes (similar to Sidney Rice) have held him out of many games over the last three seasons, but his size, potential and range has made him a legit big. Yi presently is out with a knee injury. They also use Brendan Haywood and Ian Mahhmi as there Cs. Haywood is failing epically this year but is finally turning it around but even in his peak years (08-09 with the Wizards) he was only good for 12 points and 8 REB's. Mahammi is a good fan fav (and a george fav) but produces very little except energy and REB's. Youngsters Rodddy Beaboius and Dominque jones will become feature SG's but both failed to produce anything last year due to injuries. Roddy has played 2 seasons but every year it's something else and is really taken a step back. The Mavs also have SG Delonte West who may be there best back court player right now. West is a good G and has played a starting role before (08 Cleveland). This year doesn't come down to Dirk it comes down to Odom, Kidd, West and Carter. If they play well enough the Mavs are a Elite team but i wont keep my hopes up.
