The Old Generation (of Red Sox Pitchers)

In 2004 Bartolo Colon, Ryan Dempster and Pedro Martienez were all dominating starting pitchers but today 2 are on the verge of retirment and one is retiring.   Colon is a one time Cy Young winner and a former yankee star but is now on Billy Beanes club, the A's.  Colon had a great ERA last season but is rusty and old.  even if he plays for another 3 years he is nearing the end.
Tim Wakefield, Josh Beckett and Curt Schilling and Keith Foulke along with Derek Lowe and Pedro Martinez all were once part of a legendary red sox pitching staff but now all but two are retired.  Those two are Derek Lowe and Beckett.  Wakefield retired along with star catcher jason Varitek this weekend.  After that staff came the other legendary staff with Justin Masterson, Daisuke Matusaka, Jonathan Papelbon, Jon Lester and Clay Bucholtz.  Since then all but ,Lester, Daisuke and Bucholtz , have left and the additions of Bard, Miller (Andrew) and John Lackey have not replaced the former generation.
Ryan Dempster is another former star who is struggling but he may find his way back this season.   Along with Marino Rivera, C.C Sabatha and Hiroki Kuroda the age old teams, Chicago and New york, both have the old generation but the yanks have up coming star Michael Pineada and Ivan Nova they are ready.
