The superbowl team and 2000's dynasty, NE Patriots have had three guarentees in the last 12 years:
1. A Legendary Quarterback on the roster (Brady and briefly before hime, Drew Bledsoe)
2. A Offensive Line with Matt Light
3. A Elite Receiver (Welker, Branch, Moss, Brown, Galloway)
but they also have relied on a solid defense but one of the longest lasting players on this dynasty was Junior Seau. Seau was found dead in his California home about a week ago. It Is believed to be a Suicide in which he shot himself in the chestr after texting his ex-wife and kids "I love you guys" Seau is a 12 time probowler and should make the Hall of fame. Almost every ex-teammate and coach raved about his personality and ability. Seau was part of the Bruschi, Wilfork, Samuels, Seymour, Seau and co. Defense. They could dominate games and win superbowls. Seau had played 19 seasons with the Dolphins and Patriots. Junior Seau was a pre George Talk player but will always be a george fav. Seau was just 43. Junior Seau will be missed.
In more Patriots news O-Line member and longtime patriot Matt Light is calling it quits after 11 seasons, while he can leave on "his feet". Light is presently healthy however it took intense contract negotiations to bring him back prior to last season so his retirement is completely self motivated. Without light the patriots will put more pressure on 3 time pro bowler Dan Koppen and Sophmore Nate Solder. Koppen is presently nursing a gruesome knee injury sustained early last season. Also in the trenches is former pro bowler Logan Mankins. Mankins returned to star status however is questionable to start the season after the late season MCL injury.
