Big news, Ex-Star WR Derrick Mason was traded for a sixth RD pick He was on the Jets but had amounted poor stats. They were 115 yards, 13 catches and 0 TD’s. He did star for the Titans and Ravens over 11 good years. After a poor rookie year in 1999 he turned star amounting 8 1000 yard seasons. Also in NFL news Andre Johnson has set a return date, week 8. The Texans might have suffered a HUGE blow star LB Mario Williams has really hurt his Pectoral muscles and will likely miss the rest of the season. As for the pats Kevin Faulk is nearing return but wont be back for about 2 weeks. Chung is still hurt but will likely play this coming week. The good news is that Jerrod Mayo is going to comeback around week 8.. It might take 4+ weeks Also injury news is that Blount of the Buccaneers hurt his knee and probably wont play this coming week. Hakeem Nicks, of the Giants is also hurt but he will play. Foster will likely play through another injury. He hurt his Quads. Another blow to houston, Star QB Matt Schaub hurt his knee but is likely to play. Gary Brackett, the colts defensive captain, is done for the year with a shoulder injury. The Bruins signed Rich Peverly to a 3 year extension. Peverly had 41 points last year. Bruins prize prospect Tyler Seguin will start the upcoming game due to the injury to Krejci. Penguins star Malkin is a game time decision. He suffered a hurt right leg. He has played two games this year. Last year he missed 39 games of the 82 games. Before suffering his first injury plagued season in 2009 he was a consistent 100 point getter but has a combined 102 points since 2008. Marc Savard is still hurt and has not changed much. Jeff carter might miss a few games do to the flu and the same goes for Dustin Penner both of whom play for the kings or the Blues.
It looks like the NBA lockout could last for a whole year and so far all of the Training camps and preseason games were cancelled but it looks like we may miss more than that. The two opening weeks were also cancelled. The players may consider opening there own league if necessary. Look at my Lockout losers article for the players who left for Europe.
Theo Epstien No longer works for the Red Sox as he signed a contract with the Cubs. The Sox will replace him with there assistant GM.
