NBA/MLB off season

Lets start with a headline: Ryan Braun has tested Positive to a band (in the MLB) substance. This is bad news for Brewers fans. Braun was the NL MVP but he will be suspended for 50 games. this substance is a preforming enhancing drug. After two tests they found out his Testosterone levels were double the record high.

Green colored areas are for the Celtics, Blue is Magic, Bold is Dallas, Brown is the Hawks, Orange is NY.

To the NBA where Lamar Odom has been traded to Dallas for a 1st RD pick and maybe a second RD pick. Great pick up for Dallas but why would LA do it. Odom is a VERY, VERY, VERY Versatile player who can play every position but PG. He might start at SF but Marion is the front runner in my mind. Either way I think a starting line up of Kidd, Fernadez, Marion, Dirk, Haywood with the awesome bench of Terry, Odom, Brewer (corey), Beabubois, Cardinal (Brian) and Peja is still a old, but great team.
The Hawks are on the verge of permentaly benching Kirk Hinrich, who they traded young budding Jordan Crawford. He struggled with a lot of injuries . The Knicks signed Tyson Chandler. In this deal the Wizards get Turiaff and the mavs get Rautins.  Mike Bibby also signed a deal (NY), he is a aging clutch PG. He will play for NY. Jammal Tinsley, Shannon Brown and Jason Richardson have all signed contracts. The most notable fantasy signing is J-Rich who has just singed a four year deal with Orlando. I thought he would leave orlando but apparently not. He provides showtime dunks and 3’s. Tinsley is a okay backup but no one knows if his contract t is guaranteed. If it is than he will backup the injury prone Devin Harris. Brown signed with the Suns where he will battle Jared Dudley for minutes. Both are worth a look fantasy wise. Super star C Dwight Howard has formerly requested a trade to NJ. DH12 is a boss both fantasy wise and realistically. If he plays along D-Will over Jameer Nelson he could reach 30 points, 14 REBS and 2.5 BLKS. Jeff Green has re-signed with the Celtics, Brandon Bass is expected top play both C and PF as a backup this year. Green is a F but weill mainly ackup paul pierce while Bass will backup KG. C Kurt Thomas will continue his NBA career at age 39 by joining the blazers. He is old, old defensive stopper. He helped the bulls out when Noah was hurt (2011). Jeremy Pargo is going to play for the Grizzlies Next season. The Knicks released Billups but the heat really want him. In slightly more recent news The Suns signed Sebastin Telfair. You might know him from his days in boston (2006) but after he was traded from Boston he fell out his coaches shine and has failed to make something of himself. He did average 7 points a game last year but his career high was in 2008 as a timber wolf. Zabain Dowdell and Grant Hill signed with Phoniex. The Suns picked up Dowdell in the draft to back up Steve Nash, with Aaron Brooks gone (China). Hill is 38 and is a great player (George fav.) Gilbert arenas was released and cleared waivers. Both Houston and Golden State offered, Marc Gasol and DeAndre Jordan , Restricted F/A contracts. Gasol will be matched by Memphis but I do not think Jordan will be a Clipper again. (Meaning he will sign with Golden State) The Rockets picked up Jeremy Lin. (formerly a Rocket, off waivers) Lin is a 3rd string PG at best. Charlie Bell was released to clear cap space. ( he was of the Warriors) Celtic PG Delonte west might sign with the Lakers but I think he will stay in Boston.

,
A recent star signing is that David West, a two time all star (09-10), joined the Pacers after talks between Boston and West had heated up. The Pacers (and I) think that his signing is a huge addition. He hurts so much fantasy value for Hibbert and Hansbrough. Do not be surprised if Landry and/or Kirelenko sign with Indiana. West is a good scorer and I think he will fit in well.

In even more recent news the Celtics picked up a group of bottom feeders (among the NBA) they include Mike Sweeteney. A few years ago Mike was a rosteable SF/SG with the Knicks but it has been a while and he is 29. The Celtics also officially signed JaJaun Johnson and Pavolic.

The Magic also want to pick up Billups if he clears waivers. DH12 has praised both Davis (Glen) and Billups
