NBA, Inactive

The NBA is inactive for two reasons, first this year the average amount of PPG per team is down about 4 points and it's not the defense (though it may be turnovers) the decline of a few core NBA teams is apparent,.  The Lakers, Knicks and Celtics have all taken a sizable step back.   The Lakers lost Lmar Odom and age has affected Metta World Peace while Steve Blake and Derek Fisher both have struggled this season, some rumors even have the lakers signing Wizard/magic cast off Gilbert Arenas.  The Knicks made a few bad moves this off season especially when the signed Tyson Chandler for a mega contrat.  Chandler is a defensive minded 7'0 with limited offensive ability and a injury histroy.  I really tink they over paid for a over rated big but the real isssue is that they released Chauncey Billups to get him.   To make up for that move they signed Mike Bibby and Baron Davis, Baron hasnt played a game this year (back) but until he is healthy write him off and bibby was benched by they PG starved heat last year.  He can hit a occasional three but Tony Douglas is much better.   Still Carmelo Anthony and Amare aren't nearly as good as Wade and James.  I still cant believe the Knicks traded Gallienari, Chandler (wilson), Felton (re traded for Andre Miller) and big man timofey mosgov for Carmelo.   it is amazing that the Nuggets traded 2 all stars and are still a good team. (and a playoff team) the celtics are that bad but there old and slowing down injuries to Rondo (wrist), Dooling (hand), Allen, Pierce (heel), Oneal (leg?) and Chris Wilcox (back) have really hurt this team.  This actually leads into my next reason for the title.  Andrew Bogut, Brook Lopez, Al Horford, Baron Davis, Rondo, Jason Kidd, Steve Blake, Zach Randolph and Manu Gionbelli are all hurt.  Yes not all of these guys are stars but there shouldnt be this many notable injuries.  in fact 64 of these guys were all stars last year.  and it's not just ham string or conditioning Jameer Nelson has a concussion, Ryan Anderson has a calf bruise and Drek Rose has turf toe.  The injury prone Kevin Martin has plantar facitis too.   The NBA is extremely injury prone.  This rash of i juries is unexplainable  yes the lockout should result in conditioning issues such as Dirk and Odom but the amount of injuries has forced players like Tony Battie and Ramondivic to play big minutes.  These guys are like Kevin Faulk, old and coming off injuries.
