Nash and Kidd the 90's all over again.

Today the Lakers traded 4 draft picks (weeping out thier future  for three years) to the Suns in a sign and trade for all star PG, Steve Nash.   The Lakers will not be a part of a draft until 2016 and Have a team with more age than the rolling stones, Steve Nash (38), Kobe Bryant (36), Metta World Peace (33), Pau Gasol (32), Matt Barnes (32), Steve Blake (29) and Troy Murphy (31).  The question: Will Steve Nash make the Lakers better than San Antiono or OKC? Answer: No, but they are much closer. Add some depth and resign some young players.  Jordan Hill (25) and Ramon Sessions (26) are both free agents potentially departing.  Look for LAL to have a potential quad of all stars with Nash getting a third wind in LA due to the fact he has options.   In Phoenix he made it to the conference finals twice with Amare but in 2009 Amare left and Marcin Gortat was his only replacement.  Even with the ball when ever he wants  Gortat averaged about 15 PPG and 9 REB.  Nash should play better with a better cast of team mates named Kobe, Gasol and Bynum.  So to sum it up, Steve Nash signed with the lakers and the suns got mild consolidation.

Another Off season transaction is Jason Kidd signing with the Knicks.  It was un expected but with their cap in turmoil they needed a true PG.   They will also re sign Jeremy Lin and Mike Bibby if possible.   The Dallas Mavericks now are showing intrest in PG's Ramon Sessions, Randy Foye and aaron Brooks.  Really the fact that it's a three year deal is the most intresting part because kidd will be 42 then.
