Mike Ilitch is as storied as owner get. He wasn't the owner when the team won it's last series (84). At an old age he is looking for his first, with the Tigers. As the Red Wings owner (Hockey) he has made the franchie one of the most storied franchises (ever, in the sport). So the question is, is the world series in the cards for the tigers. Oh yeah speaking of Cards the best player (Pujols) crippled there franchise when he left a year ago, yeah right (their practically doing better) So the question who will win, The Tigers and the dynamic trio (Verlander (SP), Cabrera (1/3B) and fielder (1B)) vs post season heroes Chris Carpenter (SP), David Freese (3B) and Allen Craig (OF, 2B). The Cards replaced Pujols with Craig, Berkman, Sean Marshall, Champman and Madsen( who missed all year). This season could be an amazing year for either franchise. The most interesting thing in this years MLB playoffs was definitely that the Yanks, Giants, Tigers and Cards all played and since 2006 all of them have at least 1 World series appearance. I am hoping for Ilitch so heres a quick tribute:
