When minecraft 1.3.2 came out i wasn't overly psyched but if your anything like me than you probably were like, awesome now i can play with my brother( or friend) without paying for a server, only for it to be a huge disappointment to go through. I couldn't find out how to start the server up or how to open it to other players but luckily Al did, here's his walk through. -George
Here's what Al had to say;
Well fans of Minecraft, or just people who play it, Today I am going to talk to you about LAN worlds. Now some of you may be thinking LAN what is a LAN world. Hey guys out there thinking that well here is what a LAN world is and how to set it up.
Well a LAN world is a local area network. What you do is quite simple: first One person Felipe for instance started a Single player world. Well then he presses escape for the menu and then click on the button that says Open to LAN. After that Felipe clicks on the button that says start a LAN world. Then when PSY clicks on multi player in his browser. Then when PSY clicks on The name of the server:LAN on Felipe's screen it will say in the chat area PSY gangnamstyle has joined the game. Sadly to play this LAN server you will have to be in the same local network all the time when you play the game or else it will Kick you out of the server. Also what is sad is that the people that you play with may clear your inventory at random times. Also if you are in a ravine they might push you into lava when you try and make a bridge. Surprisingly both of those happened to me in the time span of 1.5 minutes when I was playing LAN world.
