Who is the real deal
in San Fran?
Colin Kaepernick or Alex Smith?
Both are pretty good, but I think Kaepernick can run faster,
might be a little better passer and could fit in as a respected leader of the
team.
While it might be too early to really tell who will be the
future QB of the 49rs long term, I for one think we need to let this guy Kaepernick prove his point. He has been doing
nothing but that every time he has a chance to play. I give mad props to Coach Jim Harbaugh for having major Cojones and making this move, while not
really worrying about any fallen backlash from the fans or the media.
Let’s see the comparison between Smith and Kaepernick:

Pass YPG - 231 Pass

For the season, Kaepernick is 11-for-18 with three
touchdowns and no interceptions on his outside-the-pocket throws. Smith is
9-for-19 on such throws with one touchdown and one interception.
The big difference between the two is that Kaepernick still
has a lot of room to grow, and while I believe Smith is a worthy QB, the
Kaepernick upside is apparent.
