In pro sports there is a intense sibling rivilary. Sure it doesnt appear in games or the stats but theres a reason Brook lopez is so good. He simply wnated to prove doubters that he is just as good as Robin (his twin/ drafted over 20 spots higher) Many of these riviliares last from there college days into the NBA.
Duke Sharp shooter Seth Curry has shown the same skill set that his older brother Stephen showed but Seth has the spot light on him since Stephen has become a star. Will Seth ever be as good, that's an unfair question he is his own player and should be judged accordingly. The Molina brothers, Bengie, Yadier and Jose all have had very different careers. Bengie and Yadier have similar skill sets (defensive sluggers) but Bengie never stole 6+ bases in a year while Yadier did. Jose the middle brother never lived up to the Molina standard.
Is sibling rivalry a good thing? Yes, from a fan and owners perspective but i am sure Archie Manning would've hated being asked, so which son is better. I personally think that Eli doesn't have the sheer talent that Peyton does, but his drive is bigger. He wants to be as good or even better. Thus he makes a good leader (but not a great fantasy option). I see sibling rivalry as the reason the giants QB gets going in the playoffs.
Going back to the NBA there are two huge difference in rivalry, the Zeller brothers, each a year apart, are compared commonly in a degrading fashion. Saying that Cody will be a super star, Tyler a role player and Luke a bench warmer. True, maybe, but you never know. They said brook Lopez was a bust and Robin was a slam dunk, that was backwards. Brook is a 1 time allstar and Robin, well a bench warmer.
Sometimes siblings player better together. For example the Morris twins played every game of there basketball life together until the NBA draft when they were separated but since getting back together they have re emerged.
One of the best duos ever was the Jones. Originally just Sam jones was the plan but When the Celtics got Sam they noticed his brother K.C. The dynamic Duo became legends in celtic history and maybe even hall of famers.
So the next time you see two brothers dueling it out on the hardwood imagine what this small rivalry could be. Siblings feed on there rivalry it grows, manifests.
Having a brother is one of the best things that has ever happened to me, and i guarantee you that all of these pros will agree.
