10 worst sports injuries EVER

O.K first the boring part: requirements:
Must be in Basketball/Hockey/Baseball/Football
Player involved must be a Major leaguer or College player
Injury must have happened ON the field/Court/Etc...
Or of course sidelines.
Also i tried not to include any gruesome pics!!!!

Notables:
Brandon McCarthy- Hit by pitch in head/ broke skull
Yao Ming-  Constant foot injuries but the big one was a broken back turned stress fracture
Brandon Roy- Arthritis so severe in his knees that fluid build up occurred by the minute.
Adrian Peterson- Tore ACl and MCL horrifically
Bud Norris- Never recovered from Tommy John surgery, eventually called it quits.
Johan Santana- Tore rotator cuff and shoulder 4 times in 3 years, fate is un-determined.
Nick Collins-  Broken Neck ended successful NFL career
Bill Walton-  Stress fracture in foot caused his all star career to never live up to ROY/MVP season
Kevin Mchale-   Broken foot, but played on it.  The foot healed wrong and he never fully recovered
Sidney Crosby-  Severe concussion issues caused him to miss the majority of two seasons.
Junior Seau-  Killed himself a few years after retiring,.  Suffered from constant concussions.
Steve Young-   Constant concussion Issues eventually Lawerence Taylor ended his career
Adam Morrison-  Ended career with blowout knee in just second year after being picked 3rd Overall
Michael Redd-  Tore right MCL 3 times and ACL twice
Greg Oden-  Constant injuries to feet have delayed 1st overall pick's career.
T.J Ford-  Dangerous spine injury that eventually ended a solid comeback season.
Javhid Best-  Suffered 5 concussions in a year after stellar season.  Ended his career at age 24.

#10: Willis Mcgahee

A star college RB, Mcgahee suffered a horrible broken leg and torn ACL/MCL.   One witness said "you could hear the "snap" on the radio".  It took McGahee almost 5 years to be the same player again, but he never lived up to the pre injury hype.

#9: Andrew Bogut
You may not remember the gruesome 2009 playoff injury but trust me you dont want to.  He broke his arm in 9 spots.  Virtually shattering his arm.  At the time he was a key offensive and defensive cog on the playoff bound Bucks.  The play started on a fast break and ended with a flagrant foul on Amare Stoudimire.  It was so bad he couldnt bend it, he has since recovered but his offensive ability still is flat.

#8: Magic Johnson
Technically not an "injury" Magic's career ended due to Aids.  He still had years left and was in his prime on a top team.   He could've later teamed with Shaq or Kobe.   You never know.

#7: Drew Bledsoe
The predecessor to Tom Brady, Bledsoe was a solid Qb until the day Jet LB Mo Lewis rammed and almost killed him.  Tom went on to have a stellar career.   Bledsoe played heroically for the pats a year later and then signed with the Bills and later cowboys but never was the same.  The injury included a collapsed and punctured lung and broken rips.

#6: Marc Savard
A key pre-2010 player Savard was brutally nailed by Matt Cook on the Penguins.   Savard suffered a severe concussion and outside of his 1 overtime playoff goal he hasn't played.  In the end that hit ended a stars career.

#5: Marquis Daniels
A former Indiana starter Marquis has become a journey man the last 4 years.  However a horrible back/ spine injury nearly ended his career in 2011.   In a 2011 game Gilbert Arenas hit his spine in just the right spot collapsing him for 4 motionless minutes.   Today he is a backup guard for the Bucks.

#4: Kevin Ware
A backup Louisville guard, Kevin recently landed on the floor wrong during a close game with Duke in March Madness.  He suffered a compound fracture, one of two on this list (neither have photographs).  It will take him over a year before he walks again.

#3 Joe Theismann
An up and coming QB with the Redskins, he suffered a compound fracture that lead to his demise.   (Not death, retirement).  Again there isn't a picture due to gruesomeness.

#2 Darryl Stingley
A young WR, Tatum nailed him in a vicious preseason game, this paralyzed him from the waste down and shortened his life span by 20+ years but Tatum claims "i was the victim".   Stingley is one of two members on this list who are deceased.

#1 Maurice Stokes
One of the top Forwards in the NBA stokes had just 1 rookie of the year and was widely thought as the next Oscar Robertson.  During a game vs the Lakers he jumped after a loose ball and fell over Elgin Baylor.  He landed head first on the floor but said he was fine. The next day while on a plane ride to NY he passed out.  It was determined the collision with the floor had caused blood clots which triggered a massive stroke which paralyzed him from the waste down and within the next two years killed him.
