THUNDER STRIKES

In 2011 many Celtics fans were furious when the Celtics shipped fan favorites Nate Robinson and Kendrick Perkins to the Thunder for Jeff Green and Nenad Kristic.   I wont lie.  I thought Perkins was better than want we got and didn't like the trade.   However in retrospect who really one that trade?  In the article I will answer that question along with an Analyses of the 2012 James Harden for K-Mart deal.

Jeff Green, Nenad Kristic and a  1st Rd. pick  for Kendrick Perkins and Nate Robinson:

This trade is super foggy.   the draft pick was MarShonn Brooks (17#) who was later traded for Jajuan Johnson (#20) who was later traded for nothing and then released by that team.  Somehow the Celtics ended up with Brooks but it took a lot of dealing years later.  Back to the 1 trade so pretty much Green, Kristic for Robinson, Perkins.   The C's traded a disgruntled and hard to coach nate and an unable to be re-signed (cap room) and hurt/past peak Perkins for Kristic (how spent a year in Boston before going to Russia) and Green who missed 2012 with a heart condition.  Robinson ended 2011 miserably and was arrested near the years end.  Perkins got the pay day he wanted but is now a bench player. Robinson had a boss 2012 but was in Golden State and then signed with Chicago and had another good season.  In truth the Thunder struck out swinging on this trade but the Celtics only one marginally.

As for the James Harden for K-Mart deal.  It stunk really bad.  The Thunder couldn't re-sign a disgruntled sixth man of the year so they traded him to the rockets for K-Mart who then spent a disastrous year in OKC before he left in free agency.  The Thunder should've just started Harden that way they could have won and NBA title (maybe...)   In truth I think KD is just so good that no matter how much talent like Green, Robinson, Harden and Martin leave I think the Thunder will Strike.
